Alfred J. Panek, 79, died Aug. 11, 2014 at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

He was born Dec. 12, 1934, at Cunningham the son of Anton and Marie Kerschen Panek. A lifetime resident of Kingman County, he worked at various jobs and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, both of Kingman; and was a U.S. Army veteran.

On May 27, 1961, he married Mary Louise Dick at Sharon, Kansas. Other survivors include son Robert; daughters Shirlene Peitz and husband Kenny, and Corinne Robinson; brothers, Wilfred and LeRoy; a sister Mary Ann Ebenkamp; grandchildren Andrea Peitz, Caitlyn (Brice) Goering, Joshua, Seth and Chandler Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leonard; and sisters Louise Steffan and Marcelline Lubbers.

Parish rosary will be 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Livingston Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the St. Patrick Grade School or Kingman Community Hospital, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home.
