Beatrice Marie (Ptacek) Gerstenkorn

Beatrice Marie Ptacek Gerstenkorn was born April 10, 1924 on a farm near Dorrance, Ks and died March 23, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital, Wichita, Ks. Beatrice was the daughter of Frank and Anna (Kepka) Ptacek.

A longtime resident of Waterloo and recent years, Wichita, she was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and caring of all who touched her life.

Bea was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Louis Altar Society, St Joseph Catholic Church, Kansans For Life, and many clubs and organizations.

On May 18, 1948 she married Andrew Gerstenkorn at Wilson, Ks.; he died Nov. 30, 2014. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Mary Ann and Rich Buteau, Monica and Bert Purcell; two sons and their wives Ed and Jeanne Gerstenkorn, Mike and Kim Gerstenkorn; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters Anna Janda, Helen Reeves; brother Francis Ptacek. She was also preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

Parish rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Waterloo. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, also at St. Louis Burial will be in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
