Christie L. Heminway, 80, died Aug. 5, 2021 at the Prairie Sunset Home, Pretty Prairie.

She was born Oct. 23, 1940, at Pratt the daughter of Jack and Inez DeVaney Johnson.  A longtime Kingman resident, she was a retired R.N.

Christie was a member of the American Legion Post #414 and it's Auxiliary; the Kingman Rotary Club and Kingman Community Hospital Auxiliary, the Council on Aging; and was a U.S. Army veteran.

On Oct. 18, 1961, she married Walter Heminway at Hutchinson.  Other survivors include two sons John and Jeffery; brothers Bill and Bruce Johnson, Paul and David Brethauer; sister Helen Gay; and 4 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Robert Busby.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at the Kingman VFW Hall.
