Obituary

Christina "Chris" Anna Bohrer passed away April 25, 2019, in Pratt, Kansas, at the age of 101. She was born on Oct. 22, 1917, near Willowdale, Kansas, the fourth of ten children born to Ignatius and Magdalena Wagner Goetz.

She married Aloysius R. (Ollie) Bohrer on Feb. 23, 1938, in St. Peter's Church in Willowdale.

Ollie and Chris grew up on adjacent family farms. Shortly after their marriage, they moved one mile to the farm that Christina's grandfather homesteaded. Their lives evolved around family, church and farming.

Christina was a talented artist, cook, cake decorator and seamstress. She created many keepsakes for her children and grandchildren and often gave hand-painted gifts for shower, wedding and birthday gifts. Christina enjoyed fishing, flowers, watching birds and playing games, especially with her grandchildren.

She and Ollie loved to dance, play cards and travel, including two trips to Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise. They hosted anniversary celebrations for friends and relatives for their 25 th , 40 th and 50 th anniversaries in Willowdale.

They moved to Kingman in 1992. Because of failing health, they entered Pratt Health and Rehab in 2002.

Christina was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years on Nov. 17, 2004; her parents; four sisters Alvena Casper, Cecilia Schoenecker, Yvonne Beat and Ann Cole; and five brothers Eugene, Anthony, Philip, Vincent and Paul Goetz; and a step-great-grandson Jedediah Hiebert.

Christina is survived by her son LeRoy, Pratt, and daughters Judy (Bob) Doolittle, Pratt, and Gloria (Bob) Holcombe, Manhattan; five grandchildren Darby (Brad) Flemming, Pratt, Debra (Jim) Hiebert, Hutchinson, Matthew (Brandyn) Schwartz, Paxico, Jason (Erin) Schwartz, Belvue, and Douglas (Mary Ellen) Schwartz, Manhattan; step- grandson Gabe Holcombe, Chicago; and great grandchildren Enoch Hiebert, Lute, Vance, Porter and Crew Schwartz; step- great- grandsons Eli and Micah Hiebert; two sisters-in-law Barbara Goetz, Wichita, and Anna Jane Goetz, Emporia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019  Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2 at St. Peter's Church in Willowdale. Internment will follow in the Willowdale cemetery.
