DANIEL J. “BUTCH” THIMESCH
Daniel J. “Butch” Thimesch, 82, died Aug.12, 2026.
He was born Jan. 6, 1944, at St. Joe-Ost, Kansas the son of John and Pauline Lubbers Thimesch. He was one of ten children. A lifetime resident of the Kingman community, he was a former mechanic and bus driver for USD 331; was retired supervisor for Cessna Aircraft; and formerly owned and operated a used appliance business commonly known as “ Sanford and Son”; and clerked auctions for several years.
Butch was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Kingman.
On July 13, 1968, he married Patricia Kendall at Kingman. Other survivors include a son Jim and wife Allissa; daughter Danielle Rickard with Brad Prosser; brothers Ron and David; 6 grandchildren Cierra Rickard (Ryan Herd), Autumn Kolb (Garrett), Brady Rickard (Tori), Ethyn Thimesch, Peyton Thimesch (Madison) and Aubrey Thimesch; and 4 great-grandchildren Bella, Ty and Bri Rickard and Haycen Kolb. He was preceded in death by brothers Lawrence, Alvin, Jim, Wayne and Gerald; sisters Bernice Foote and Joyce Fairchild; and a granddaughter Cristina.
Parish rosary will be 5:00 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, also at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with St. Patrick Church Building Fund, the St. Patrick Grade School, and the Nu-2-U Store and all may be mailed to the Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman KS 67068.
