DAVID L. GOVERT
David L. Govert, 54, died Sept. 14 2011 at his rural home, Cunningham, KS.
He was born September 10th, 1957, in Kingman, KS., the son of Julius and Nancy Dumont Govert. David was lifetime resident of Cunningham and Kingman communities.
Throughout his life, David was a lifelong farmer and stockman, as well as the founder of MachineryLink. He was a member of class IX of KARL (Kansas Agriculture Rural Leadership) and served on numerous county boards, most recently, president of the Kingman County Fair Board. Of all his many accomplishments he took the most pride in his children whom he loved dearly-as well as his extended family and many friends.
David was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman; and the Knights of Columbus 2662 Saint George Council, Willowdale.
On April 16, 1988, he married Sheila Schneider in Olmitz, KS. Other survivors include daughters Katie May, (Kelvin) Anna and Amelia; sons Joseph and Jack; father Julius; sisters Julie Govert-Walter and Alice Bryan; brother Alan Govert. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy, step-mother, Isabelle; father and mother in law, Paul and Rose Schneider.
Parish rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kingman. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, also at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Livingston's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman.
Memorials may be made with St. Patrick Catholic School, Kingman County Carnival, and Kansas Agriculture Rural Leadership (KARL), in care of the funeral home.
