Dolores Gerber Bergkamp, 97, died Feb. 19, 2021 at Kingman.

She was born Aug. 2, 1923, at Waterloo the daughter of Marcus and Cressie Frey Gerber.  A lifetime resident of Kingman County, she was a homemaker and a retired clerk for Jim Hill Accounting.

Dolores was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman; and the Altar Society at both St. Patrick and St. Louis Catholic Church, Waterloo.

On Oct. 20, 1948, she married Vincent Bergkamp at Waterloo; he died March 8, 2004.  Survivors include three daughters Sister Vicki Bergkmap ACS, Virginia (Merle) Brown, and Vanora (Randy) Smith; grandchildren Jason (Krysti) Bergkamp, Justin Bergkamp, Jill (Brian) Garcia, Marcus (Courtney) Brown and Nicole (Tim) Stutts; great-grandchildren Jaylie, Kyler, Aaron, Evan, Teagan, Will, Oliver, Ivy, Dylan, Levi and Kaylee.  Also preceding her in death were son Vernon, daughter-in-law Billie; her parents; siblings, Charles (Dorothy) Gerber, Marcella (Fred) LeFevre, Ida Mae (Joe) Schoenecker, Jane (Rich) Thome and Urban (Betty) Gerber.

Our mother embraced her strong faith in God sharing that love with her family and friends.  She loved to gather everyone around the table with great food, lots of card games, marbles and conversation.  She loved preparing everyone their favorite dishes from cinnamon rolls to pecan pie.  And for the grandkids and great-grandchildren the candy dish was always full, pop in the fridge and snacks in the cabinets.  The farm was the hub for our family whether it be for harvest, bbq's, project days, barn painting and relaxing under the shade trees.  Our memories include family reunions hosted by our aunts and uncles, their pinochle games and playing marbles for nickels.  We will always remember her playing rummy with her nieces and marbles with her grandkids.  We celebrate mom's life with us and rejoice in her reuniting with our father, brother, parents and all her brothers and sisters.

Parish rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday also at St. Patrick's. Friends may call from 1:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday at the Livingston Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with Wheatlands Healthcare Center or St. Patrick Grade School in care of the funeral home.
