Donald W. Parsons passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman, Kansas.
He was born on a farm South of Cheney, Kansas, the first born son of Wallace and Florence (Gregory) Parsons on Feb. 22, 1933. He attended and graduated from Adams High School in 1951. It was there he met the love of his life, LaVon Allender and they were married on Dec. 22, 1951, in Anthony, Kansas. To their union two children were born, a daughter Victoria Garden and son Johnny Parsons.
Donald lived for many years in the Rago community. He worked at the Cessna Aircraft Company and later at the Don Dye Company in Kingman. He retired from Don Dye Co. in 1996 after twenty-seven years. During this time he also enjoyed farming.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with LaVon in their camper and exploring the beautiful scenery on their Honda trike.
Donald was preceded in deathy by his wife LaVon; his parents; his granddaughter Carmen Olah; his brother Dale Parsons; and his sister Nadine Parsons. He is survived by his daughter Victoria; son Johnny; sister-in-law Diane; niece Ruby Pierce and next door neighbor Bucky Sewell who stepped in to help them when their health failed. He is also survived by several more nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Livingston Funeral Home. Family graveside services will be in the Hunt Cemetery.
Memorials have been suggested to Wheatlands Healthcare Center or to Rivercross Hospice and may be mailed to Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
