EDWIN WIARD

BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA

Edwin L. Wiard, 90, died July 26, 2022, at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  He was born July 10, 1932, at Greensburg, Kansas, the son of Ralph and Laura Ellen Carithers Wiard.

A longtime Enid, Oklahoma, resident, previously of Pretty Prairie, Edwin was a life-time railroader beginning with the Santa Fe.  He also railroaded with the Rock Island, MKT, OKT railroads and retired in 1993 with the Union Pacific Railroad.  Upon retirement, he volunteered for the railroad museum in Enid.

On December 31, 1953, he married Carolyn McCubbin.  She preceded him in death January 23, 2017.  Edwin is survived by his sons Buck (Denise), Hutchinson, and Chad (Kristin), Broken Arrow; five grandchildren and their spouses Brett and Diana Wiard, Mindy and Justin Tankersley, Chelsea and Jeramy Pappas, Katrina and Vadim Narudsky and MacKenzie and Matt Thorne; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Stucky.  He was preceded in death by his wife, sister Evelyn Pettay and brother, Darwin Wiard.

Visitation with family is Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 10:00 am until noon, at the United Methodist Church, Pretty Prairie, with the graveside service  being held at 2:00 pm at the Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie.
