Eleanor Bernadine Hageman, 98, died April 9, 2017, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

She was born Oct. 22, 1918, at Cunningham, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Theresa Bencken Mertens. She was a loving mother. A longtime resident of the Willowdale community, she owned and operated a dairy farm; and was an employee for School District 332.

Eleanor was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church and D of I, both of Wilowdale; was inducted into the Cunningham Hall of Fame; was "Daughter of the Year" for the D of I in 1995; and was a school board member.

On Feb. 22, 1938, she married Leo Hageman at Willowdale; he died June 3, 1977. Survivors include sons Daniel, Leonard, Kenneth, Dennis, Charles, Dwaine, Leon, Jerome, Joseph, and LeRoy; daughters Louvenia Barnickle, Carolyn Nicholas, Loretta Heatherman, Juliann Hageman and Rita Goetz; brothers Joseph and Charles; sister Margaret Boone; 53 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by sons Donald and Merven; brothers Eugene, Bernard, James and Herman; sisters Clara Murray, Maryann Martin, Agnes Daniel, Odelia Stevenson and Theresa Ward; granddaughter Lonah Ann Marie Jones; great-granddaughter Brynli Teeters; and great-grandson Austin Harper.

Parish Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wilowdale, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, also at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 4-5, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.

Memorials may be made with the Knights of Columbus of Willowdale and the Zenda Community Center both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
