ERNEST M. "ERNIE" BEAT

Ernest M. "Ernie" Beat, 81, died Sept. 13, 2016, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

He was born Oct. 6, 1934, at Murdock, Kansas the son of Henry L. and Barbara M. Heitz Beat. A lifetime resident of the Murdock and Waterloo communities, he was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church; and former member of the Vinita Township and Cheney CO-OP boards.

On Oct. 6, 1962, he married Charlotte Lies at Andale. Other survivors include sons Ron and his wife Christi and Karl; daughters Nadine Walter, and Brenda Holcomb and her husband Rod; brothers Gerald, Alvin, Leo, and Eugene; sisters Alice Claven and Jane Bailie; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant twin children Paula and Paulette; brother Robert; and sister Dorothy Dix.

Parish rosary will be 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home with the family present from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A time of fellowship with the family will follow the rosary in the Livingston Family Center located directly behind the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Louis Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials be made with the Rivercross Hospice of Wichita, Wheatlands Healthcare Center and the St. Louis Cemetery, all in care of the funeral home.
