Esther M. Oberle, 98, died Sept. 11, 2016, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.
She was born March 1, 1918, at Ellinwood, Kansas the daughter of Peter and Anna Straub Kimpler. A resident of Kingman since 2000, previously of Bushton and Claflin, she was the former cook for the Holy Name and Bushton schools.
She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman; and formerly of the Altar Society at Holy Name at Bushton and Immaculate Conception at Claflin.
On Nov. 7, 1939, at she married Joseph P. Oberle, in Barton Co.; he died Nov. 12, 1979. Survivors include two sons and their wives, John and Nadine, and David and Coleen; daughter Judy Campbell; sisters Bernetta Oberle, Catherine Feist and Mary Bate; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers Victor and Roman; half-brothers Raymond and Jacob; sister Florentien Oberle; half-sister Helen Schulz; and son-in-law Larry Campbell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Claflin. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with the parish rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Holy Name Catholic Cemetery, Bushton.
Memorials may be made with the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, Catholic Charities, and Rivercross Hospice of Wichita, all in care of Minnis Chapel, Ellinwood.
