KINGMAN - Frederick E. Vaughn Sr., 87, died Oct. 14, 2010, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center of Kingman, Kan. He was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Florence and Willis Ward Vaughn.
He owned the Fix-it Shop in Kingman and loved to fish and golf with his family and friends. Fred was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Kingman; and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Knights of Columbus, and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a retired executive of the Chrysler Corporation and a senior member of the American Society of Tool Engineers. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict and received many medals, including a Presidential Citation from the President of the Philippine Islands.
On Dec. 7, 1946, he married Kathryn Yost in Covington, Ky., who preceded him in death. Survivors include: a son, Frederick E. Vaughn II and wife Ann of Kingman; a daughter, Penny Wilson and husband Mark of The Villages, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Shana Vaughn, Nicki Thompson, Jenny Campbell, Andi Vaughn, Paul Vaughn, Ron Carpenter, Sarah Reardon, Jamie Duvall, and Jessica Bohn; and 15 great grandchildren.
The Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, also at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman. Friends may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick Catholic School Building Fund, The Kingman Library, or the Kingman Hospital in care of Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
