DR. GEORGE R. WATSON, Jr.

Dr. George R. Watson, Jr., 67, died May 8, 2014, at his home in Wichita.

He was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Alliance, Nebraska the son of Dr. George R. and Margaret Ruth Laughlin Watson. A longtime Wichita resident, he was a physician practicing Alternative Medicine and Family Medicine with offices in Park City and Hays, Kansas.

He was a member of Central Christian Church,,Wichita; the NRA, past President of AAPS, and was highly supportive of the Wounded Warrior Project. He achieved the rank of Capt. with the USAF, flying F-4 Phantoms in Vietnam. He became a Lt. Col. as a flight surgeon with the KS Air National Guard and was on active duty during Desert Storm. Flying was a passion of his.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Cheatum) Watson whom he married on Oct. 26th, 1969 in Kingman, KS. Other survivors include son George R. Jr. of Edmond, OK; daughters Jennifer (Will) King, Rebekah Watson, all of Wichita; mother Margaret Ruth Watson; brother Jeff Watson; and 5 grandchildren; Christian Watson, and Zechariah, Anna, Joshua, and Rachel King. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister Barbara Amerin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Central Christian Church in Wichita. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Hoosier Cemetery in rural Kingman.

Memorials may be made with the Wounded Warrior Project and Good Shepherd Hospice, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
