Gerald W. Powell, 68, died April 12, 2015 at Kingman Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Wichita the son of B.E. and Marjorie Bobier Powell. A longtime resident of Kingman he was a self-employed insurance inspector.
He was a member of the Kingman United Methodist Church; the Masonic Lodge, a Big Brother in Big Brothers/Big Sisters being named Big Brother of the Year in 2010; a WSU graduate; and was a USAF veteran of Vietnam.
On Aug. 18, 1990, he married Karen Jacobs at Zenda. Other survivors include two daughters Heather Powell, and Heidi Mort and her husband Jesse; brother Bill; step-father Donald Basore; former wife Helen Powell; grandchildren J.J. and Aubrie; and his "Little Brother" Hawkeye. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Gregory.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kingman United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today (Tuesday), at the Livingston Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Zenda.
Memorials may be made with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Reno County in care of Livingston Funeral Home.
