Obituary

JoAnn Roberts
February 2,1935 - September 23, 2025

JoAnn Roberts, 90, beloved Mother and Granny, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday,
September 23, 2025 at the Cheney Main Street Villa in Cheney, Kansas.

JoAnn was born February 2, 1935 in Peabody, Kansas, to Charles and Helen (Snavely) Lock. After the early loss of her mother, she was lovingly raised in Norwich, Kansas, by her father, with the devoted help of her aunt and uncle,
Hester and Tex Holder. This upbringing deeply shaped her values of faith, resilience, and compassion.

She and Forrest "Frosty" Roberts shared 63 years of marriage in Norwich, before Frosty passed away.
In addition to lovingly caring for Frosty the last 40 years of their marriage due to his health challenges, she held a variety of jobs.
She was a long time employee of Conway Bank, formerly the Farmers State Bank of Norwich.

JoAnn was a woman of deep Christian faith. Her life was a quiet testimony to God's love, grace, and faithfulness.
She was a member of the Norwich Methodist Church and served in many different areas.

Her greatest joy in this life was her family. She was a devoted Mother to her daughter Wendy Coykendall and her husband
Kevin of Cheney, KS and to her sons Robin Roberts of Wichita, KS and James Roberts and his wife Lisa of Edmond, OK.
She cherished her role as Granny to grandchildren Dena Coykendall, Lucy Shipley (Britt), Charlie Roberts, Kali Dvorak (Joe), Dylan
Roberts, Brent Coykendall, Jamie Roberts, and Regan Roberts. She was also deeply loved by her great-grandchildren:
Isabelle Shipley, and Cooper and Chloe Dvorak. Her gentle spirit, warm hugs, fun-loving nature, and unwavering prayers will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her.

Even though her memory faded, her heart was always full of love till the end. Instead of caring for others, she was lovingly cared for by the Villa girls, who she adored, despite a sassy mood now and then.

Though our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise that she is now reunited with those she loved, resting in the peace of God's eternal embrace.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, at the Norwich Methodist Church. A private burial service will precede at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to be sent to Cheney Main Street Villa in gratitude for the loving care
JoAnn received there or the Norwich Methodist Church.
