JOE E. STRONG
Joe E. Strong, 79, died Nov. 22, 2010 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 19, 1931, at Nashville, Kansas the son of Earl W. and Thelma Morton Strong. A lifetime resident of Nashville, he was the owner of Strong's Insurance Agency.
He was a member of the Zenda United Methodist Church, the Hilltop Manor of Cunningham board, City of Nashville Mayor, past president of the Kansas Chapter of the National Arthritis Foundation, and member of the Western Kingman County Education Foundation; a graduate of Nashville High School and the University of Kansas; and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
On June 27, 1953, he married Nancy Glenn at Kansas City, Missouri; she died Sept. 13, 1993. On Feb. 14, 1995, he married Martha Albers at Nashville. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Kathy Hansen, Carol Strong and Sandra Kistler; step-sons Bernie and Ned Albers; step-daughters Bonnie Stephens, Mary Ann Norris and Marlene Albers; nephew and niece Scott Strong and Susan Strong; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by step-son Larry Albers; and brothers Earl "Si" and Ralph "Teazy" Strong.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Nashville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Burial will be in the Nashville Cemetery.
