JOE DUANE VANLANDINGHAM

Joe Duane Vanlandingham, age 68, was born September 29, 1952 in Kingman, Kansas to Dick Vanlandingham and Ione (Torrance) Vanlandingham, the youngest of four brothers.     He grew up on a Ranch in Southern Kingman County, riding horses and enjoying the ranch life.

Joe graduated from Kingman Highschool in 1972.

After high school, Joe moved to Plano, Texas, where he worked and developed his love of flying and traveling. Upon his return to Kansas he moved to Medicine Lodge and most recently resided in Pratt, Kansas.

During his lifetime, Joe's passions were sports, Church, reading, bowling and most importantly his friends and family.   He was passionate about them all.   Joe never met a stranger and he never forgot anyone.

He enjoyed participating in Special Olympics in basketball, track and tennis and was active in his local churches.

He passed away peacefully Sunday, February 14th, 2021 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.   He was preceded in Death by his parents, Dick and Ione and brothers Don and Bruce.   He is survived by brother, Jerry Vanlandingham and his wife Ruth of Zenda, Kansas.   Nieces,  Moira Vanlandingham-Brenneman and husband Mike of Wichita and Lisa Vanlandingham-Lilja and husband Ralph of Zenda.   Nephews,  Roger Vanlandingham and wife Mary of Kingman, Jason Vanlandingham and Nathan Vanlandingham.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m,. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
