John D. Birkenbaugh
Was born March 29, 1921, at Basil, Kansas and passed away Aug. 23, 2011 at his residence in Kingman. He was the son of Joseph and Bess Birkenbaugh.
A lifetime resident of Kingman County, he was a farmer, cattleman and certified seedsman
John was a WWII veteran, serving with the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corp.
On April 4, 1941, he married Betty Jo Rahm at Greensburg, Kansas. Other survivors include son Dr. Jon Birkenbaugh; granddaughter Kellie Davis; great-granddaughter Macey Davis; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Frances Bonham. He was preceded in death by his brother George and his wife Reba; a nephew Clint Birkenbaugh; a niece Carrie Rahm; and brothers-in-law Jack Rahm and Dwight Bonham.
Memorials may be made with the Good Shepherd Hospice and Kingman Carnagie Library.
