JOHN A. MERTENS

John A. Mertens, 80, died Dec. 20, 2018, at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham.

He was born Feb. 28, 1938, at Willowdale the son of Leo W. and Lucille H. Miller Mertens. A lifetime resident of the Willowdale and Cunningham communities, he was a retired farmer and stockman.

John was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church, Willowdale.

Survivors include his brothers Lawrence, LeRoy, Leo, Donald, Ronald Gene and Marvin "Butch"; sisters Alice Jacobs, Pauline Jacobs, Helen Meyers, and Karen Lubbers; and his companion Rochelle Beach.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Willowdale, followed by the Parish Rosary at 10:00 a.m., both on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Peter Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the Hilltop Manor at Cunningham or Heartland Hospice, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home.
