John R. Parsons, 97, died May 5, 2017, at Kingman.
He was born July 20, 1919, at Harper, Kansas the son of Elmer W. and Mary Bobbitt Parsons. A Kingman resident since 1967, having also lived in Harper and Cimarron, Kansas he was a retired farmer and agency manager for Kansas Farm Bureau.
John was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, VFW #1164, all of Kingman; and was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.
On July 15, 1946, he married Marceline Burns at Dodge City, Kansas; she died Feb. 23, 2007. Survivors include sons Stephen, Stanley and Mark; daughters Jean Ann Hageman and Maikwe Parsons; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by brothers Walter and Frank; and sister Frances Hurst.
Parish rosary will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with the St. Patrick Grade School or VFW Post #1164, both in care of the funeral home.
