Johnny J. Schrag, 89, died Feb. 24, 2016, at the Prairie Sunset Home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1926, at Castleton, the son of Benjamin and Carrie Graber Schrag. A lifetime resident of the Pretty Prairie and Castleton communities, he was a retired farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie.
On June 5, 1951, he married Helen Graber at Pretty Prairie; she died Feb. 9, 2004. Survivors include a son Marion; two daughters and their husbands Beverly and Joel Virts, and Stephanie and Steven Basinger; brother Herbert; sister Mary Pauls; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by son Gareth; brothers Daniel, Dave, Harvey, Willard and Richard; and sisters Bertha Schrag, Adina Flickinger and Anna Friesen.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie. Friends may call from after 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with the First Mennonite Church or the Prairie Sunset Home, both in care of the funeral home.
