Kenneth D. Schwartz, 87, died Aug. 13, 2017.
He was born March 11, 1930 the son of Peter J. and Louisa "Lucy" Graber Schwartz.
Kenneth graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1948. He worked at DMH and Hutchinson Correctional Facility, both in Hutchinson.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church; and was a U.S. Army Ranger serving during the Korean War.
On May 19, 1956, he married Deloris Overall at Pretty Prairie. Other survivors include a son Jody; daughter Joni Stanley; sisters Valeta Vogt and Shirley Bay; granddaughter Hannah Stanley; step-grandchildren Sarah (Colt) McGillivary with Taylon and Blaine, Kyle (Grace) Mendenhall with Kiah and Josiah. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Vance Stanley; brother Gene; and sister Verna Graber.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Military honors will be presented by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard at the Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with the Prairie Sunset Home and Kindred Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
