Obituary

Larry Flickner, Husband, Father, and Gramps was carried to heaven by Gods angels the evening of October 18, 2024. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was born on Jan. 16,1937 to Joe and Selma Flickner at their home in Cleveland, KS. Larry was the fifth of eight children. He grew up in a Christian home where life was done around Church, farming, hard work, music, and homemade ice cream.
He met Judy Morris after she graduated from high school, and they were married on April 30th, 1960. They had sixty-four wonderful years of marriage. Their marriage that was a great example of Christ's love for his children and grandchildren to follow.
Their family grew with three children Penny (the favorite), Jenny, and Joey. Dad provided for his family by working hard and raising cattle, hogs, and we always had a garden. He worked for Phillips 66, Collingwood Grain, and the local feed store. He loved being in an environment where he could be around people and shooting the breeze.

His Family continued to grow, blessing him with 14 grandchildren and 30+ Great Grandchildren. He and Judy traveled to baseball and basketball tournaments, volleyball games, and soccer games. They always tried to be a part of their grandchildren's lives and went to as many games as they could. He was always willing to also give free advice on life's lessons.
Dad took pride in having a yard with barefoot grass, had a big garden and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed cooking out on the grill and having family gatherings. It seems like we were always having a cookout at Aunti Anns and Uncle Franks or at our house.
Larry is survived by his wife Judy, Daughters Penny, (Dale) Thompson, Jennifer (Quenton) White, Joey (Janice) Flickner, 14 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. - He was preceded in death by his parents, all 7 of his brothers and sisters, one granddaughter, Kayla and one great grandson, MJ.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.  Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

Memorials may be made with Traditions Hospice of Reno County or the First Mennonite Church Youth Group, both in care of the funeral home.

The family thanks you for your prayers during this time. A special thanks to Mr. Unruh, Jessica, Holly, and Luke who provided dad care during these past few months. Dad truly loved them and was so glad when they came to visit. God has given our family His peace for which we are grateful. It is only through Him, that we are able to trust and know that God is in control and directs our paths, including the number of breaths we take on this side of heaven.
