Leola Hageman

Leola A. Hageman passed away on August 23rd surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 92 in Kingman, Kansas.

Leola was the daughter of Cornelius and Lena Tiesmeyer Gerber and the fifth of seven children. She was born on July 5, 1933, and raised on the family farm in Waterloo, Kansas.  She was a woman of deep and abiding devotion, committed to her Catholic faith and the teachings of the Church. Her membership in the Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella were an important part of her life. A talented beautician and resident of the St. Leo community most of her life, she later moved to Pratt in 2010.  Leola had a radiant smile and was known for her kind heart and love for her family.

She was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Pratt.

On August 29, 1959, she married Paul Hageman.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend.

She is survived by her brother, Larry, and sister, Joan, both of Wichita.  Other survivors include her three children: Denise (Bill) of Cunningham, Randy of Cunningham and Greg (Shelli) of Kingman; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sisters Kathleen and Helen and brothers Jerome and Bishop Eugene.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Parish Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27th at the St. Leo Catholic Church in St. Leo, Kansas.  Mass and Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 28th, also at St. Leo Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Kingman Healthcare Center for their compassionate care.  Memorials may be made to the St. Leo Catholic Church Building Fund or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund in Pratt, KS all in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
