LEONARD L. ORTH, JR.

Leonard L. Orth, Jr., 92, died Feb. 12, 2013, at Kingman.

He was born March 13, 1920, at Cheney, Kansas the son of Leonard L. and Gladys Marshall Orth. A Kingman resident since 1991, he was the retired owner of the Hallmark Card Store, Hutchinson and Orth's Drug Store, Moundridge.

He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, Kingman; the American Legion of Moundridge; and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On April 14, 1945, he married Betty Long; she died Oct. 14, 1987. On Jan. 5, 1991, he married Dixie Negle Simpson. Other survivors include a daughter Amy Holland Thompson and her husband Kim; stepsons Coke Simpson and Clark Simpson and his wife Rita; step-daughter Sheila Simpson; niece Phyllis Burns and her husband Bill nephew Gerold Hensley; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son Paul; an infant son; and a sister Gladys Smith.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman.

Memorials may be made with the Kansas Humane Society and the Kingman Community Hospital Oncology Dept., both in care of the funeral home.
