LESTER D. SCHRAG

Lester D. Schrag, 90, died Oct. 27, 2017, at his home in Haven.

He was born April 3, 1927, at Burrton, Kansas the son of David J. and Adina Flickner Schrag. A longtime resident of the Haven community, he retired after forty-three years teaching elementary school and coaching. During the summer months he also worked as a driver for Collins Ambulance.

Lester was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie; and was a member of the Kansas Men's Choir.

On July 30, 1950, he married Verdene Albright at Pretty Prairie. Other survivors include sons Joseph and James A.; daughters Jennie Maison, Judith Ann Hoag, Janine Nicolet, and Julia Detlefsen; brothers Eldon, Myron and Joseph; sister Ruby Unruh; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the First Mennonite Church or the MCC, both in care of the funeral home.
