Loretta Margaret (Freund) Holcomb, 88, died July 7, 2013, at the KU Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1925, at St. Leo, KS the daughter of Ed and Emma Armbruster Freund. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers. F.M., Clem, and Lawrence "Shorty"; and sisters Elizabeth, Marie and Josephine.
On Oct. 23, 1946, she married Theodore L "Tuffy" Holcomb; he died Aug, 6, 1971. Survivors include their ten children, John (Kay), Denver, CO, Fred, Paola, KS, Chuck (Helen), Cunningham, KS, Mary (Mark) Schulte, Lake Barrington, IL, Ted, Wichita, KS, Pat (Dak), Kansas City, MO, Bob (Susan), Lenexa, KS, Jim, Chicago, IL, Rod (Brenda), Overland Park, KS and Andrea, Olathe, KS; 15 grandchildren; Bill and Jacob Holcomb, Taylor, Cooper, Lincoln and Morgan Schulte, Hannah, Alexander and Christopher Holcomb, Joel and Douglas Burnett, Samantha, Isabelle and Amelia Holcomb, and Teddy Holcomb; 4 great-grandchildren, Brennan, Brielle, Brooke and Brady Holcomb.
She lived most of her life in the rural Cunningham area and moved to Kingman in 1988 and to Olathe in 2011. She was an active member of the St. Leo and St. Patrick Catholic Churches. She was on the state boardof the National Alliance on Mental Illness and was a board member of USD 332. She was a homemaker, quilter, seamstress and Master Gardner and loved sharing that knowledge with others.
Parish Rosary will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at the St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Leo Church Cemetery.
