Obituary

Lyna Louise Stuart Dixon passed away January 16, 2024 at Wheatlands Health Care Center.

She was born April 8, 1925 in Kingman, KS, the daughter of Virgil Ray and Blanche Elizabeth Dotter Stuart. She married Ernest Gloyd Dixon on September 30, 1945. Virgil, and then Gloyd and Lyna, were longtime owners of Dixon's Hardware in Kingman, KS. Gloyd passed away May 21,  2016.

Lyna was an active member of the Kingman Methodist Church, the UMW guild, Quilters Club, Mothers Club, Mid Century Club, Hobby Club and Hospital auxiliary. A group of dear high school friends formed Epsilon, meeting and traveling annually for over 50 years.

Lyna and Gloyd were avid sports fans, supporting the Kingman Eagles and Wichita State University Shockers.

Lyna was also preceded in death by her parents; brother Ray (Jane), daughter, Teri and great grandson Elijah. She is survived by her sons Chris, Lance (Patricia), Todd (Nancy) and Stephen (Tammy); son in law Greg Harpool, thirteen grandchildren: Allen, Kristyn,  Nathan, Jeanneane, Bonnie, Tyler, Ben, Anna, Kevin, Brenden, Emiline, Allyson and Reece; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Lyna was the last of her generation in both the Stuart and Dixon families.

Funeral services will be held at the Kingman Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, January 20 at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Livingston Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the Kingman Methodist Church and Wheatlands Health Care Center both in care of the funeral home.
