Martin L. Hampel, 84, died August 20, 2017 at Kingman Community Hospital, Kingman.
He was born September 26, 1932, at Pretty Prairie, Kansas the son of Fred W. and Helen Beat Hampel. A long time resident of Pretty Prairie, he was a farmer, insurance agent and school bus driver for USD #331.
Martin was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the US Army.
On May 26, 1962, he married Patricia Lager at Angelus, Kansas. Other survivors include two sons and their wives Fred and Leslee Hampel of Evergreen Colorado, Tom and Judy Hampel of Pratt Kansas; two daughters and their husbands Christie and Alec Creighton of Ft. Morgan, Colorado and Julie and Ron Pinkerton of Dodge City, Kansas and grandchildren Ben Creighton, Rachel Creighton, Justin Hampel, Aaron Pinkerton and Jesse Pinkerton; brothers John and Paul and twin sister Martha Kerschen and sister Geraldine. He was preceded in death by his stepmother Marie Foxworthy Hampel, brothers Alfred and Norbert, sisters Florence Kelsey, Berenice Bergkamp, Ernestine Hon and Ruth Heithaus.
Parish rosary will be 7:30 pm Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, also at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Tuesday at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made with the Kingman Community Hospital or the St. Patrick Grade School in care of the Livingston Funeral Home.
