Mary M. Smithey, 80, died March 18, 2018, at the Kingman Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 24, 1937, at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles H. and Pearl Ann Gibson Hammers. A longtime resident of the Spivey community, she was a former CNA and lab technician.
Mary was a member of the St. John Catholic Church, Zenda.
On November 26, 1966, she married Clifford Smithey; he died in 2000. Survivors include three sons, William Arthur, Clarence Earl and Clifford John; daughter Mary Pineda; brother Patrick Hammers; sister Jane Catherman; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son James Lee Smithey.
Parish rosary with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following will be recited and celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at the St. John Catholic Church in Zenda, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
Memorials may be made with the St. John Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
