Mary Kathleen Whitmer, 96, died May 17, 2025 at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

She was born Dec. 14, 1928, at Courtland, Kansas the daughter of James Clifford and Mary Frances Evans McKinney.  A resident of the Zenda community most of her life, she was a Home Demonstration Agent for Kingman County.

Kathleen was a member of the Zenda Methodist Church and numerous other clubs and activities.

On Aug. 3, 1952, she married Larry Whitmer at Hartford, Kansas; he died Jan. 28, 2018.  Survivors include sons Monte and wife Edwina and Scott and his wife Sue; daughter Esther Koontz and husband Wendell; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She was also preceded in death by a brother James; and a sister Esther Alice Stockebrand.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.  The family will have a private interment at a later date.
