Norman J. (Monk) Youngers

He was born in Willowdale, Kansas on September 12, 1937, to Otto and Georgian Screen Youngers. He attended schools in Willowdale and Zenda, Kansas.

After graduation Norman served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957.  He began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired in 1999 after forty-one years.
He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of Kingman.

On October 1, 1960, he married Mary J. Linnebur in Colwich, Kansas; she passed away May 25, 2023.

Norman is survived by his six children, Kevin (Dawna) Youngers, Tina (Scott) Ludwig, Sheila Hooker, Lesa (Rob) Roser, Gary (Gina) Youngers and Mona (Shane) Dreiling; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister Rita Wasinger; and sister-in-law Joyce Youngers.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard, Otto and Norbert; an infant sister Mary Jane and Jaime Padilla (Megan).

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in the St. Patrick School vestibule with the Parish rosary at 7:30 p.m., in the St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2024, also at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to St. Patrick School or The W Place Full Care and Retirement Facility, both in care of Livingston Funeral Home.
