Oscar Lee Davis, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, 7:30 am. Born Feb.1, 1933 in Hackett, Ark. to parents Lucinda Rhodes and John Davis. He was the 7th of 8 children. At 4 years of age, after his father’s death indirectly resulting from hernia injury in the coal mines, Lucinda moved the family to Helena, Arkansas, then at the age of 10 the family moved to Wichita where the older children found work in the aircraft industry. 

Upon graduation from high school, Oscar married Nola June Guldner and helped raised 5 children while managing many of the Safeway stores for over 35 years, always making sure his family was fed and cared for. He enjoyed teaching the kids silly songs, such as, “In the Pines,” studying the bible, playing cards with friends and family, fishing, computer games, and gardening. 

He had a large, close, extended family and there was always someone stopping by to visit. Unfortunately, after 56 years of marriage, Nola passed away. Then a few years later he married Margie Green Aumiller whom he met at a bible study and they were married around 15 years until her passing last year. Oscar enjoyed spending time with her 4 daughters and their families as well. 

Over the past few years, Oscar’s health was beginning to fail him, but he remained strong, cared for himself, continuing wth gardening, playing games on his computer, and watching the news. In July he had a heart valve replacement and later that night had a stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side and over the span of 2 months, his health deteriorated quickly. Oscar was beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, great, great, grandfather and step-father. He will be forever remembered for his strong faith, hard work, and love for family. 

Oscar is survived by sister Peggy Steeby, son Oscar L. Davis II, daughter Lynn Beckman & husband Rudy, son Gilbert S. Davis & wife Sherry, son Kirby Davis & wife Gayle, and son Aaron (Scott) Davis & wife Janice, step-daughters Billie, Bobbie, Sherry and Rita; 9 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great, grandchildren. Oscar is preceded in death by siblings: Lorene, Frances, Ruby, Ruth, John, and Henry. 

Services will be held at Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main St., Kingman, KS on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, 2 PM. Family will receive family and friends for visitation and viewing from 12-2 PM, day of funeral. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
