IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Edna
Matson
April 19, 1941 – June 8, 2019
Patricia Edna Matson, age 78, a three-year resident of Rockwall, Texas, passed away June 8, 2019. She was born April 19, 1941, in Albion, Oklahoma, to Edgar R. Patterson and Juanita Beatrice (Files) Patterson, where she spent her younger years. Patricia moved to Belmont, Kansas with her husband, Jack Matson to take over the Matson family farm. She lived there until 1991. Ultimately, her career took her to Hutchinson, Kansas, Norman, Oklahoma and finally she retired to Rockwall, Texas.
She was a proud grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Patricia was a caretaker to her sisters and to many others who she loved over the years. She always gave to others, expecting nothing in return. Her life's work was those around her, family, friends and co-workers. Her career was largely spent supporting the family farm and working in the healthcare industry. Throughout her life, she always had a soft spot for those afflicted with mental challenges. Patricia loved knitting and would always have baby blankets ready for newborns.
Patricia is survived by her children: Peter Matson, Eric Matson and wife Joan, and Christopher Matson and wife Tara; and grandchildren: Jacob Matson, Madeline Matson, Nathan Matson, Miles Matson and Jack Matson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Matson; sisters: Sheredith Riddle, Dixie Stewart and Frances (Patterson) Adkins; and her parents.
A memorial graveside service will be 10:00 a.m, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Greenwood Cemetery near Belmont, Kansas.
