Rita A. Goertz, 94, died May 20, 2016, at Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, at Waterloo, Kansas the daughter of August and Anna Rohling Detmer.
A resident of the Willowdale community most of her life, she was the retired custodian at the St. Peter and Zenda Grade School.
She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the D of I.
On Oct. 23, 1945, she married Rudolph "Rudy" Goertz, at Willowdale; he died July 8, 2005. Survivors include sons Robert, Joe, Ronald and Paul; daughters Barbara Swingle, Jane Goetz, Doris Josephson, Loretta Kerschen, Suzanne Chambers and Rosalie Blosser; brothers John and Lawrence Detmer; sisters Mary Lou Osner and Agnes Urban; and numerous grandchilderen and great-grandchildren.
Parish Rosary will be 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the St. Peter Catholic Church, Willowdale. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with the St. Peter Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
