ROY E. WILLIAMS

Roy E. Williams, 88, died Jan. 2, 2013, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.
He was born March 6, 1924, at Selman, Oklahoma the son of Garret Franklin and Martha Eunice Scovel Williams. A longtime resident of Kingman, he was a retired attorney with Williams and Williams Law Offices.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion and VFW, was the former Kingman County Attorney, USD #331 attorney, former board member of the Kingman Recreation Commission, Kingman County Draft Board attorney, as well as serving with the Kingman Chamber of Commerce and Kingman Zoning Boards. He was also a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII as a member of the 20th Armored Division that participated in the Battle of the Bulge and in the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp.

On Sept. 18, 1944, he married Merritta J. Lewis at Guthrie, Kentucky; she died Sept. 22, 2011. Survivors include two sons, Brad and his wife Linda, Chad and his wife Jodie; daughter Debbie Sheldon and her husband Sherill; grandchildren Kyle, Ashley, Kara and Alexandra; step grandchildren David and Mary; great-grandchildren Bailee, Presley and Tenley; step great-grandchildren, Gracie, Lily, Ben, Avery and Parker. He was also preceded in death by a brother Frank; and sisters Eunice Ziba, Lucille Horyna and infant sister MarthaVier.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Kingman United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Livingston Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the Kingman United Methodist Church, Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Harden Hospice of Kansas and Kingman Community Hospital, all in care of the funeral home.
