Ruth A. Lam, 92, died Jan. 30, 2022 at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.

She was born May 13, 1929, at Cheney, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Laura Schierenbeck Kohler.  A longtime resident of the Kingman community, she was employed at the Kingman County Courthouse, Calverts, Kingman Flower Shop, Kingman Memorial Hospital; and was recognized by the State of Kansas with her work as Conservator for many individuals.

Ruth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the VFW Auxiliary, Mizpah Rebeka's Lodge, all of Kingman.

On Jan. 9, 1949, she married Ernest W. "Ernie" Lam at Wichita; he died Aug. 30,2006.  Survivors include daughters Judy (Larry) Doss, Joyce (Ira III) Hart, Janice Lam, and Jeana Lam-Pickett; grandchildren Heather, Haylie, Jake, Sophia, Zoey, John and Joe; and great-grandchildren Treven and Max Kent, Jaxon Hart, Cady and Chloe Zoeller, Hunter, Oliver, Dayton and Jaxson Kent; and her cat Lizzie.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Erwin; and sisters Helen Reiff and Roberta Tonn.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022 at the Livingston Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the First Presbyterian Church, the Kingman County Humane Society or Mizpah Rebeka's Lodge all in care of the Livingston Funeral Home.
