RUTH ELLEN SHIPPEN

Ruth Ellen Tasset Shippen, age 81, was a loving friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was born to Clarence and Margaret (Klenke) Tasset in Spearville, Kansas.  A devout Catholic, she graduated high school at Sacred Heart Academy in 1958, then graduated from Newman University in 1962.

Ruth worked over 40 years as a medical technologist at St. Francis Hospital.  Her other interests included being a 4-H Director while her daughters were young.  She was a Choir Director and Alter Society member at St. Louis Parish in Waterloo, Kansas for a number of years.  In 1981, she authored a commemorative, history book of the St. Louis Parish in Waterloo in celebration of it's centennial.

Ruth loved classical music, books, movies, genealogy, ice skating, Suduko, traveling and Jeopardy (and Alex Trebek).

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Margaret Tasset, her brother Leroy Tasset and her great-granddaughter Ryan Grace Hampel.
