Vernon W. Hensiek, 92, died May 6, 2014, at Newton, Kansas.

He was born Oct. 8, 1921 the son of William and Elsie Lampe Hensiek. A resident of the Nashville community most of his life, he was a retired farmer, stockman, fur buyer and a fur trapping retailer.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Nashville; the American Legion at Isabel; was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

On Jan. 18, 1948, he married Kathleen Dick; she died Jan. 5, 2013. Survivors include 2 sons, Steve and Doug; daughters Carol Vera, Beverly Maciaz, Audrey Hensiek and Deanna Hensiek; a sister Geneva Westerman; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Nashville. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman with the family receiving friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m Burial will be the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made with the St. John Lutheran Church or the Isabel American Legion, both in care of the funeral home.
