VERNON L. SCHROEDER

Vernon L. Schroeder, 91, died Nov. 11, 2020 at Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 2, 1929, at rural Partridge, Kansas the son of George Washington and Ida Minnie Schwartz Schroeder.  A resident of the Pretty Prairie community most of his life, he retired as a press operator for Kraus Plow after thirty-eight years and was a retired farmer.

Vernon was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson; and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

On Dec. 14, 1951, he married Vaneta Beck at Hutchinson.  Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands Lynn and Alan Wineinger, Stephanie and Leon Unruh and Gail and Al Renner; sister Naomi Sanders;  grandchildren Lisa and Monty, Lindsay, Seth and Danielle, Kyle, Jyl and Aaron, Jacob and Rosi, James, Caleb and Leah; and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother Gene; and sisters Marilyn and Alice.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday at the church with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie.

Memorials may be made with the Reno County Veterans Memorial or the Kansas Honor Flight both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman.
