Virginia H. Fairchild, 96, died June 2, 2016, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.
She was born May 25, 1920, at Strauss, Kansas the daughter of Elijah and Mildred Cole Morrow. A longtime Kingman resident she was a homemaker, a former teacher, operator of the Overland Hotel and the Turon Sale Barn.
She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church, the Kingman Art Club, CWF and the EHU.
Virginia married Stanley P. Fairchild on Oct. 31, 1943, at Wichita; he died Sept. 7, 1986. Survivors include son Gary Fairchild and his wife Dorothy; daughter Gayle Ziegler and her husband Albert; sisters Betty Ledford and Carol Comeny; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bill; sister Fern Wood; and great-grandson Jesse Henning.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 3:00 p.m.. to 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made with the Kingman Christian Church and Wheatlands Healthcare Center, both in care of the funeral home.
