WILLIAM E. "BILL" COON

William E. "Bill" Coon, 100, died Jan 28, 2025, at Kingman.

He was born March 15, 1924 at Adams, Kansas the son of Otis and Mary E. Harper Coon.  A lifetime resident of the Kingman community, he was a retired farmer.

Bill was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church; and was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran.

On Jan. 12, 1947, he married Helen Garibay in Wichita; she died Jan. 27, 2015.  Survivors include sons  Mike and Jim; daughters Nicki Harders, Mary Pond, Esther Brewster, Jennifer Vulgamore and Phyllis Pease; sister Tessie Jane Hibbs; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by a son Patrick; daughters Kathleen Vulgamore and Anita Ohler; and an infant son Joseph.

Parish rosary will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2025 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kingman.  Following the rosary the Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m.  Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday at the Upchurch Cemetery near Norwich.
