Obituary

William (Bill) George Shippen, age 86 years old, was born to William Henry and Frances M. (Moritz) Shippen of Danville, Kansas.  He was a 1956 graduate of Harper High School after which he enlisted in the Air Force for 3 years, stationed in Greenland.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Ruth Ellen (Tasset), his brother David and his great-granddaughter Ryan Grace Hampel.

As a boy living in Danville, Bill was a 4-H club member, an altar boy and a member of the FFA.  As an adult, Bill was a welder, a salesman, a leatherworker and owned a guttering business for several years.  He's been a member of the St. Louis parish in Waterloo since 1970 and the St. Patrick's parish while living at Wheatlands.

Survivors include his three daughters Suzi Shippen (Bob Wagner), Terri Shippen (Jeff Houk), Pattie Drake (Rob Drake), his two sisters Sr. Catherine Shippen ACS and Harriett Fox.  He has 7 grandchildren, Matthew Hampel (Heather Hampel), Clayton Kimberlin (Tiffany Kimberlin), Hannah Fuentes (Micheal Fuentes), Ben and Maggie Laurhammer, Harrison Drake (Jennifer Drake), Madeline Drake (Brendan O'Niel) and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a rosary said for Bill at 7PM on Friday, August 23, at the Livingston Funeral Home.  A funeral mass will be held at 1:00PM at St. Patrick's Parish in Kingman, KS on Saturday, August 24.    Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery at Waterloo.
